Also known as an accidental sample, convenience sampling is non-probability sampling in which people are included in the research study because they just happen to be in the right place at the right time.

To put it most simply, a convenience sample is a group of participants to whom the researcher has access, for example, patients on a ward.

In accidental/convenience sampling, potential participants are simply entered into the study until the desired sample size is reached.
