PURPOSIVE SAMPLING

Also known as judgemental sampling, purposive sampling is a non-probability technique that involves the conscious selection by the researcher of certain people to include in a study.

Participants are selected because they have particular characteristics that are of interest to the researcher.

For example, they have had the experience in which the researchers are interested, or there are certain aspects of their lives in which the researchers are interested.
